Keith Davis

Originally from Wapakoneta, Ohio, Keith moved to West Virginia in 1975. He is co-founder and CEO of Woodland Gospel Publishing, and a longtime journalist as well as respected author. A member of West Virginia Writers, Inc. and Publishers Marketing Association, he has received public and critical acclaim for his titles, The Secret Life and Brutal Death of Mamie Thurman; and West Virginia Tough Boys: Fist Fighting, Vote Buying and a President Named JFK. 

He is a former advertising account executive, managing editor, graphic designer, and newspaper publisher. Besides his varied duties at Woodland Gospel, he is also the general manager of The Logan Banner, a daily newspaper in Logan, West Virginia. He has been involved in developing long-term marketing strategies and schedules; he has also designed various corporate budget, weekly reports, and revenue and expense tracking procedures for the newspaper industry. 

He is involved in every aspect of project development and alliances for Woodland Press and Woodland Gospel Publishing House.  

Keith plays bass guitar for the music ministry at Sunbeam Chapel, a nondenominational, fundamental, soul-winning church in Sunbeam, West Virginia — www.sunbeamchapel.org.

Cheryl Davis

Cheryl Davis, Keith’s lovely wife, is a skilled editor and gifted writer in her own right; she offers extensive critique, analysis, and in-depth editing services for Woodland Gospel authors. She is also involved in manuscript development, and works with Keith on marketing strategies for all Woodland Press properties.

She is often the first person an author or vendor speaks with when he or she calls our Chapmanville offices. As with all members of the management team, Cheryl places an emphasis on courteous service and business integrity.

Cheryl is also an accomplished pianist and the head of the music ministry at Sunbeam Chapel, www.sunbeamchapel.org. She is a lifelong resident of Logan County, West Virginia.

Timothy J. Fortune  

Tim Fortune, a native of Logan County, WV, is co-founder and CFO of Woodland Gospel Publishing. He has an extensive background in business and the customer service arena. 

He is responsible for client and vendor contract negotiations, computer network administration, accounting management, public relations, project development, and database programming sales. He is also skilled in web site design and development.

Tim is a graduate of Bluefield State College, in Bluefield, West Virginia, although he spent most of his college years attending Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.  Tim was a finance major.   

Besides his duties at Woodland Gospel Publishing, Tim is the general manager of Joe Holland Chrysler, in Charleston, West Virginia. 

Tim is involved in several ministries at Sunbeam Chapel — www.sunbeamchapel.org — including the Young Adults Ministry and outreach and Young Adult Sunday School Program. He is also a soloist choir member in the church music ministry.

Renee’ Fortune  

Renee’, Tim’s lovely wife, brings various talents and expertise to Woodland Gospel. She is an assistant secretary and bookkeeper, working with Tim, and presents a strong background in creating imaginative author events. Renee’ is involved in project development and customer relations.  

Renee’ is also active in grant research and the application process for the company. She keeps authors aware of potential federal and state grant money and writing fellowships for which they may qualify. 

Renee’ and Timothy are members of Sunbeam Chapel, where they are both active in the music ministry and the Young Adult Sunday School Program. Both are lifelong residents of Logan County, West Virginia.  

Mike Collins  

Mike, an Associate of Woodland Gospel, is a versatile individual that brings many talents and gifts to Woodland Gospel Publishing. He has worked in the radio industry for many years and has been a successful disc jockey, program director, and general manager. He has also worked in all aspects of radio advertising, production and marketing. He also worked as a newspaper account representative.

Considered an authority in Christian radio and tape ministry, Mike has two published books on the subjects. He is a newspaper columnist and the published author of Audio & Tape Ministry, Radio Ministry 101, and Hold On, The Authorized Biography of the Greenes: America’s Southern Gospel Trio. 

He is familiar with the cable television industry, mainly marketing and public relations; Mike is also involved in web site and graphic design, vendor development, and all aspects of the company.

Mike also brings an “insane sense of humor” to the organization.

He and his wife, Jewell, attend the First Church of Christ in Chapmanville, West Virginia. He is involved in the church music ministry as a soloist and minister. He is a lifelong resident of Logan County, West Virginia.  

Jewell Collins 

Jewell, Mike’s lovely wife and an Associate of Woodland Gospel, has a strong background in finance management and brings much enthusiasm to Woodland Gospel. She is involved in public relations, manuscript valuation, and author events for the firm. 

She is also a gifted photographer and interview assistant, working with Mike, for biographical projects.

Jewell also attends the First Church of Christ in Chapmanville, West Virginia. She is a lifelong resident of Logan County, West Virginia.
